Welcome to Coral Sea. The battle for Coral Sea took place in May 1943 and was the first battle in history where aircraft carriers engaged each other directly with fighters. Thus, the skies of this 4th location are the ultimate dog fighting grounds in Battlefield 1943. Two aircraft carriers supply your team with all the F4U Fighters and Zeros you’ll need as your conquest to control the skies rages on. Use the volcanic terrain to your advantage and flank your enemies or weave in and out of the low arches to avoid enemy fire. Stay with your wingman, practice the Thach Weave, and soon you’ll dominate the skies of the Pacific! The choice is yours once you help achieve the 43,000,000 kills goal.
Coral Sea features a new game mode called Air Superiority. Much like it’s cousin, Conquest, the goal of Air Superiority is to exhaust all of your enemies tickets by shooting down the opposing fighters. A tightly connected formation between a few allied planes will earn you a fearsome reputation and the title “Ace of the Pacific!”
Tip: In Air Superiority mode, a team can capture an area much like a flag. They need to fend off enemy fights and rule the sky alone for a few moments to capture the area.
